    Step 4: Read the F Prefix Correctly<\/h3>\n

    Nothing else in the code generates as much confusion as the F prefix. Until about 2020, style numbers on made-for-outlet pieces opened with an F, placed after the dash on the creed. These pieces are genuine Coach products, only made for the outlet channel. Some sellers and forums treat the F as a warning sign of a counterfeit, and that belief is wrong.
